General Information
Development for this conversion was a 4-year process in which Aircraft Performance Modifications was granted the STC as well as its PMA. Flight Testing was provided by High Altitude Aircraft Solutions where results yielded a 4 - 7% increase in airspeed. Located on the under-surface and aft of the pressurized bulkhead, APM's Aft Body  Strake Conversion reduces drag by creating an area of increased pressure under the empennage thereby reducing the amount of drag the empannage incurs during flight.

Streamlined Airflow Yields Results

Additionally, you'll notice that with the strake conversion your aircraft's rate of climb has improved as well. As soon as your 400 series Cessna reaches cruising altitude the improvement in airflow that the strakes provide do all the work for you.
